Ghost Light John Neumeier (Choreography) Franz Schubert (Music) Hamburg Ballet David Fray, piano Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, 2020 TV director, Myriam Hoyer A Ghost Light - a single lamp that illuminates the stage when rehearsals or performances are finished - is part of a long theatrical tradition. Legend says that originally, the night light was for the ghosts of former artists so that they may cavort throughout the night and not disturb or disrupt current performances! At this very moment, because of the pandemic, countless stages, particularly in America, are illuminated by Ghost Lights. The Hamburg Ballet was one of the first ballet companies internationally to return to its studios after the first lockdown. Observing a strict hygiene concept, John Neumeier created 'Ghost LightU, a new full-length ballet, for his entire ensemble of 55 dancers. The ballet 'Ghost Light' deals with isolation and the feelings and fantasies an empty stage may evoke. Developed in fragments using small groups of dancers and under the constraints imposed by Covid-19, the choreography reflects situations, fears, relationships, memories and emotions experienced during the pandemic. John Neumeier dedicates this work to his dancers. For this recording, the solo piano music is performed by the star pianist David Fray whose Franz Schubert recordings inspired the choreographer.

One of the world's finest and most-respected conductors, Claudio Abbado was legendary in stature, having held the post of musical director with La Scala in Milan from 1968 to 1986, with the Vienna Opera from 1986 to 1991, and the Berlin Philharmonic from 1989 to 2002. A strong advocate of the development of young musical talent, he was instrumental in the foundation of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. After a serious illness, he began the final phase of his career: founding the new Lucerne Festival Orchestra. Filmmaker Paul Smaczny followed his career over the years, regularly filming and interviewing him. In this profile Abbado talks about his life and work, his conception of music, his favourite compositions. Never-before-seen interviews are combined with images of the conductor in rehearsal and in concert, interviews with friends and colleagues, and archival material. The resulting portrait presents this 'silent thinker' under a new and unexpected light.

Made famous by his participation in the 1960's, in the Tropicalist Movement, he was imprisoned, and forced into exile by the military regime established in 1964. Once back in Brazil, he went into politics whilst continuing his artistic career. Municipal Councilor in Salvador de Bahia he then became Minister of culture for the government of Lula da Silva. His return to Marciac where he presented his latest album marked the apotheosis of an evening entirely devoted to popular Brazilian music. From muted sambas to classy bossas, they are part of popular Brazilian music that the musician in his seventies has always stood up for. Promowana hasłem „Muzyka dla Twoich oczu”, łączy w sobie wrażenia płynące z doskonałego brzmienia i oglądanych występów. Mezzo przenosi widzów do najbardziej prestiżowych sal koncertowych, na deski scen operowych i baletowych oraz w świat znakomitych festiwali muzycznych. Historia telewizji Mezzo
Telewizja Mezzo została założona w 1992 roku przez francuską publiczną grupę mediową France Télévisions. Do roku 1998 nosiła nazwę France Supervision. W 2001 roku Mezzo połączyła się z francuskim kanałem muzycznym Muzzik, zachowując swoją nazwę. Logo stacji składa się z czerwonego napisu „mezzo” ze stylizowaną literą „m”. Siostrzaną stacją telewizji Mezzo jest Mezzo Live HD – kanał nadawany od kwietnia 2010 roku.
Oficjalna siedziba stacji znajduje się w Paryżu we Francji. Obecnym właścicielem jest francuska telewizja publiczna oraz francuska spółka mediowa Grupa Canal+. Aktualnie stacja dociera aż do blisko 60 milionowej widowni i jest dostępna w ponad 80 krajach na całym świecie – w tym w krajach Skandynawskich, w Portugalii, Rosji czy w Polsce.
Od samego początku telewizja Mezzo poświęcona była promocji muzyki klasycznej, jazzu i tańca wśród szerszej widowni. Zamysłem było dotarcie nie tylko do zaprawionych melomanów, ale także osób rozpoczynających przygodę z muzyką poważną. Oferta kanału składa się z programów w różnym formacie. Repertuar obejmuje różne gatunki i formy sztuki klasycznej – m.in. operę, balet, koncerty symfoniczne, jazzowe czy recitalie. Krótko- i pełnometrażowe występy nadawane są w blokach. Przeplatane są programem muzycznym „ InterMezzo ”.
