Richard Strauss and his Heroines Divorce! After six years of marriage the choleric and chronically jealous Pauline, daughter of a general, has had enough of Richard Strauss. Pauline always knew it: her husband who at 36 is celebrated as the most important living German composer across the globe is cheating on her. His congeniality and moral uprightness is just a mask! Are his inspirations for the erotic escapades which are the basis of several of his tone poems and songs based on the love affairs of the artist? The film Richard Strauss and his Heroines goes on an exciting journey discovering the women in Strauss' life. At the focus is primarily his relationship with Pauline, to whom he was married for over 55 years up to his death. Until today she applies as a harridan who often embarrassed her husband in public. It hereby falls under the table that Strauss at the beginning and the end of his relationship composed his finest songs for the trained singer who gave up her career for him and covered his back for the rest of his life. What was it that made the broken old man, who experienced the most varied of epochs in German history, from the Empire to the Nazi dictatorship to the post-war period, write in 1948 in his final song ('At Sunset') one of the most moving declarations of love in the history of music: 'We have through sorrow and joy gone hand in hand'? Richard Strauss and his Heroines - this is the first filmed search for clues about the unforgettable heroines created by Strauss. It is both the story of a turbulent, and at the end moving, love story of two people who were prepared to walk through fire for each other. We visit Strauss' last surviving grandchild in Garmisch and we meet the great Strauss singers Brigitte Fassbaender, Reneé Fleming, Dame Gwyneth Jones and Christa Ludwig, who report on their famous Strauss roles. With the conductor Franz Welser-Möst we research the secret of Strauss' instrumentation genius. For more than six decades, Pierre Boulez has had greater influence on the development of contemporary music than anyone else. Already in younger days, he gained a reputation as a doughty champion of the avant-garde. With his compositions, interpretations, and ideas he indelibly shaped the international music scene - not only as a composer and conductor, but also as a music philosopher and teacher. The documentary 'Inheriting the Future of Music: Pierre Boulez and the Lucerne Festival Academy' is a homage to him on the occasion of his 85th birthday on 26 March 2010. For the past five summers, Pierre Boulez and highly gifted young musicians from all over the world have converged for intensive rehearsal weeks during which they learn from the maestro and one another, discuss and play selected compositions, and finally present subsequently the fruits of their labour in a number of outstanding concerts. To convey the fascination for contemporary music, the documentary captures the perspectives of Pierre Boulez and the young conductors, composers, and musicians involved. Their infectious enthusiasm gives viewers an emotional access to the world of new music. Accompanied with retrospective accounts, this endeavour narrates significant experiences and encounters in Boulez' career and gives a graphical depiction of the way he passes these experiences on to his current students. Consequently, this makes selected works by Stravinsky, Stockhausen, and Boulez more approachable. On a different level, it demonstrates how strongly personal experiences leave their mark on individual action, aesthetic sensitivity, and our perception of others.

Arte Flamenco, 35 years of Festival in Mont-de-Marsan In the heart of the Landes, every July, the streets and stages of Mont-de-Marsan welcome Arte Flamenco. Created in 1989 by the Department of Landes on the initiative of Henri Emmanuelli, the largest flamenco festival outside the Spanish borders celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2024. The opportunity for its director Lionel Niedzwiecki to look back on the history of this event that has remained faithful to the tradition of flamenco puro while exploring the paths of modernity, the links between this region of the South-West of France and Spain, the popular roots of flamenco and the attachment to the freedom of artistic creation illustrated by the shows presented during this edition by the choreographers Manuel Linán ('Muerta de amor') and Rafaela Carrasco ('Creaviva') as well as the pianist Dorantes ('Orobroy'). Rachmaninov revisited Celebrated in his day not only as a great composer, Sergei Rachmaninov was also admired as an outstanding pianist who was a peerless interpreter of his own works including the piano concerti and the Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini. It is well known that he was in effect the sole pianist capable of performing his most demanding Third Piano Concerto and his performances and recording of the concerto came to be considered as the definitive ones. The relationship between performance, interpretation, and Rachmaninov's own life is addressed in this film by young pianists. They explore the evolution of interpretation over the past few decades with brief excerpts of recordings by Rachmaninov as contrasted with contemporary performances by today's well-known young pianists as they comment on the differences (or similarities) of their approach. Mezzo to francuska stacja telewizyjna skupiająca się na światowej muzyce klasycznej, jazzie i tańcu. Promowana hasłem „Muzyka dla Twoich oczu”, łączy w sobie wrażenia płynące z doskonałego brzmienia i oglądanych występów. Mezzo przenosi widzów do najbardziej prestiżowych sal koncertowych, na deski scen operowych i baletowych oraz w świat znakomitych festiwali muzycznych. Historia telewizji Mezzo
Telewizja Mezzo została założona w 1992 roku przez francuską publiczną grupę mediową France Télévisions. Do roku 1998 nosiła nazwę France Supervision. W 2001 roku Mezzo połączyła się z francuskim kanałem muzycznym Muzzik, zachowując swoją nazwę. Logo stacji składa się z czerwonego napisu „mezzo” ze stylizowaną literą „m”. Siostrzaną stacją telewizji Mezzo jest Mezzo Live HD – kanał nadawany od kwietnia 2010 roku.
Oficjalna siedziba stacji znajduje się w Paryżu we Francji. Obecnym właścicielem jest francuska telewizja publiczna oraz francuska spółka mediowa Grupa Canal+. Aktualnie stacja dociera aż do blisko 60 milionowej widowni i jest dostępna w ponad 80 krajach na całym świecie – w tym w krajach Skandynawskich, w Portugalii, Rosji czy w Polsce.
Od samego początku telewizja Mezzo poświęcona była promocji muzyki klasycznej, jazzu i tańca wśród szerszej widowni. Zamysłem było dotarcie nie tylko do zaprawionych melomanów, ale także osób rozpoczynających przygodę z muzyką poważną. Oferta kanału składa się z programów w różnym formacie. Repertuar obejmuje różne gatunki i formy sztuki klasycznej – m.in. operę, balet, koncerty symfoniczne, jazzowe czy recitalie. Krótko- i pełnometrażowe występy nadawane są w blokach. Przeplatane są programem muzycznym „ InterMezzo ”.
