Juditha triumphans Oratorio by Antonio Vivadi (1678 - 1741) Librettto by Iacopo Cassetti Armonia Atenea, Il Pomo d'Oro, GNO Chorus, GNO Children's Choir, Markellos Chryssicos (Conductor) Agathangelos Georgakatos (Chorus Master), Konstantina Pitsiakou (Children's Chorus Master) Thanos Papakonstantinou (Stage Direction) Christina Thanasoula (Lighting), Niki Psychogiou (Costumes), Niki Psychogiou (Sets), Amalia Kosma (Choreography) Roxana Constantinescu (Juditha) Kristina Hammarström (Holofernes) Inga Kalna (Vagaus) Theodora Baka (Abra) Sophia Patsi (Ozias) Athens, Greek National Opera, Stavros Niarchos Hall, 20 April 2021 Juditha triumphans was based on a Latin libretto by Iacopo Cassetti, which was in turn inspired by the Book of Judith from the Old Testament. The king of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar sends his general, Holofernes, to conquer the city of Bethulia in Israel. To save her Israelite compatriots, courageous Judith decides to seduce Holofernes. When he falls asleep, she cuts his head off. Juditha triumphans is the only extant oratorio of the four that Vivaldi composed. The intense war atmosphere is conveyed through the dynamic choral parts, and Judith's faith and integrity through the lyrical and tender writing. Notable is the use of many different and relatively rare instruments, such as the viola d'amore, chalumeaux, and theorbos, used by Vivaldi to highlight the most significant moments.

Directed by Christopher Nupen 1970 was the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth and, to mark the occasion, Daniel Barenboim and Christopher Nupen collaborated on a thirteen-part series about the man and his music. Close friends at the time, Barenboim as artist and Nupen as filmmaker, were on the cusp of long and illustrious careers in music. Much of the material they shot has never been broadcast and, until recently, the footage had lain dormant for half a century. Now the series has been resurrected in its original form. It was recorded when Daniel Barenboim was in his late twenties, full of talent, charisma and early authority. During the episodes, he talks and plays extracts at the piano, illustrating the defining characteristics of Beethoven's compositions and sharing his personal insight into the composer's mindset. Throughout, he addresses the camera directly as presenter, adding to the intensity of the narrative. For orchestral pieces, he conducts the New Philharmonia Orchestra or plays at the piano with Sir Adrian Boult taking the conductor's baton. 'Barenboim On Beethoven' is a musical journey charting Beethoven's progression in the context of his contemporaries such as Mozart and Haydn. Over twenty key compositions are performed and dissected, making this a unique body of work.

Revisor Crystal Pite (choreography) Kidd Pivot (dance company) Directed by Jeff Tudor Recorded at the Sadler's Wells, London Neither simply dance or traditional theatre, but an exciting and exhilarating new form that transcends either genre. Revisor is performed by 10 incredible dancers of Pite's company Kidd Pivot, to a soundtrack recorded by 9 voice actors. The dancers lip sync to the actors' words in Pite's trademark fluid, expressive and witty style. Revisor is based on a Russian anecdote about mistaken identity that surfaced in 1833, and quickly spread. It is now widely accepted as probably true. In 1836, the story took shape in a five-act play: The Government Inspector (Revisor) by Nikolai Gogol. The play premiered in St. Petersburg before the Czar who, according to reports, laughed and applauded, and is said to have remarked 'Everybody gets it, and I most of all!' The play was in disguise as a comedy. Ten dancers embody the recorded dialogue of some of Canada's finest actors, exploring conflict, comedy and corruption in the potent relationship between language and the body. Revisor reunites the creators of the international stage hit Betroffenheit (winner of the Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production 2017) with director Jeff Tudor, who won the Rose d'Or (Arts) and Golden Prague Awards 2018 for his capture of Betroffenheit for the BBC.

Telewizja Mezzo została założona w 1992 roku przez francuską publiczną grupę mediową France Télévisions. Do roku 1998 nosiła nazwę France Supervision. W 2001 roku Mezzo połączyła się z francuskim kanałem muzycznym Muzzik, zachowując swoją nazwę. Logo stacji składa się z czerwonego napisu „mezzo” ze stylizowaną literą „m”. Repertuar obejmuje różne gatunki i formy sztuki klasycznej – m.in. operę, balet, koncerty symfoniczne, jazzowe czy recitalie. Krótko- i pełnometrażowe występy nadawane są w blokach. Przeplatane są programem muzycznym „ InterMezzo ”.
